Description

LTM 1120-4.1

Mobile crane.

The new LTM 1120-4.1 was first unveiled to the world at the Conexpo 2020 in Las Vegas. To match the city of superlatives, this mobile crane is extremely powerful – in fact it is the most powerful 4-axle crane on the market. The boom is the longest in this crane class and has extremely high lifting capacities when fully raised. This increases flexibility and saves transport costs, as this crane can tackle jobs which would normally require a 5-axle crane together with all the logistics work that involves. For example, the crane is ideal for erecting radio masts or tower cranes and also features time-tested technology in the form of VarioBase® and VarioBallast®. Deliveries will start in the 4th quarter of 2020.

VarioBase®
VarioBase makes the crane’s support system variable. It enables each outrigger to be extended to a different length. This enhances safety – particularly in constricted spaces. And what’s more, the crane’s lifting capacities are significantly increased, particularly over the outriggers and depending on the configuration.

Single-engine concept
Take one engine out to increase lifting capacity. Or more accurately – the superstructure is powered by the undercarriage engine. Gear shafts are routed from the distributor gear in the substructure via two mitre gears to the pump distributor gear in the superstructure. That enables us to remove one engine – and we use this to increase the crane’s lifting capacity.

VarioBallast® (mechanical)
Mechanically slewing ballasting cylinders enable the ballast radius to be changed quickly to two different settings. The smaller radius is used in constricted conditions whilst the larger one is used if a higher lifting capacity is required. This significantly increases the crane’s flexibility.

ECOdrive
ECOdrive makes the mobile crane significantly more comfortable and quieter by reducing the engine speed. Faster gearshifting delivers greater dynamic and traction offroad. On the road, the torque from the Liebherr diesel engine is used efficiently to minimise fuel consumption.

ECOmode
ECOmode minimises both fuel consumption and noise emissions when operating the crane superstructure. The crane operator sets the required working speed using the control lever. The LICCON 2 control system calculates the perfect engine speed for the diesel engine.

WindSpeed load charts
Increased flexibility and safety by using lifting capacity tables with different maximum wind speeds.
