Description

LTM 1450-8.1

Mobile crane

The LTM 1450-8.1 features a very long yet powerful 85 metre telescopic boom. The Liebherr 8-axle crane has been designed for worldwide cost-effective mobility and fast, easy set-up on site, which has resulted in the LTM 1450-8.1 being capable of travelling on public roads with a 12-tonne axle load including its 85 metre long telescopic boom, all supports and a complete hoist winch. This means that it can be quickly prepared for use once it reaches the site.

VarioBase®
VarioBase makes the crane’s support system variable. It enables each outrigger to be extended to a different length. This enhances safety – particularly in constricted spaces. And what’s more, the crane’s lifting capacities are significantly increased, particularly over the outriggers and depending on the configuration.

Single-engine concept
Take one engine out to increase lifting capacity. Or more accurately – the superstructure is powered by the undercarriage engine. Gear shafts are routed from the distributor gear in the substructure via two mitre gears to the pump distributor gear in the superstructure. That enables us to remove one engine – and we use this to increase the crane’s lifting capacity.

VarioBallast® (hydraulic)
The ballast radius can be infinitely varied using a simple hydraulic slewing mechanism. The radius can be reduced in constricted conditions or increased if a higher lifting capacity is required. This significantly increases the crane’s flexibility.

Automatic erection of the luffing jib
We can provide a support function for erecting the luffing jib on larger LICCON 2 cranes. Activating the automatic erection system in the LICCON crane control system ensures that the adjustment winch is automatically adjusted by the control system as the telescopic boom is luffed.

WindSpeed load charts
Increased flexibility and safety by using lifting capacity tables with different maximum wind speeds.

ECOmode
ECOmode minimises both fuel consumption and noise emissions when operating the crane superstructure. The crane operator sets the required working speed using the control lever. The LICCON 2 control system calculates the perfect engine speed for the diesel engine.
